Wisconsin Supreme Court General Election Early Vote Forecast
The much-anticipated Wisconsin Supreme Court general election between liberal Janet Protasiewicz and conservative Dan Kelly will be held on Tuesday April 4. The current 4-3 conservative majority is up for grabs, and with it issues such as abortion and redistricting, among many others. Legislative redistricting lawsuits could radically alter the Republican legislative super-majority that exists even though statewide Democratic candidates won a majority of the vote in 2022. There could be further implications for congressional redistricting, which is also highly skewed towards Republicans. The stakes are high. It is the most expensive Supreme Court race in Wisconsin history. Republican legislative leaders are even already talking about impeaching Protasiewicz if she wins.
The Wisconsin Elections Commission released the final pre-election early voting report for the run-off election, so it is time to divine what these statistics may tell us about the April 4 election.
