As of today, Thursday Oct. 24, there is near parity in party registration among all North Carolina early voters — mail and in-person — with registered Republicans taking a lead for the first time by 0.2 percentage points or 3,365 voters out of the 2 million voted so far.
At the same time, Women have a 9.9 percentage point lead among early voters. If partisanship and gender are correlated, this presents a puzzle of sorts. So what is going on?
