Election activity tends to coincide with campaign events. I’ve been following Pennsylvania mail ballot applications, noticing an increase in the gap between Democratic and Republican mail ballot applications since the presidential debate on September 10.
Here is some additional evidence of increased Democratic enthusiasm — and interest among women — via the Colorado voter registration file. I obtained the latest version as of Monday, Sept. 16. Most states make their voter files available either upon request or provide a monthly snapshot. Colorado is different for me in that I have a subscription that provides near-daily updates. This will come in handy when early voting starts, but it also provides a first look at what happened with voter registration activity following the presidential debate.
