Mail Ballots Returned vs. Return Rates
The subtle difference may reveal an important voting pattern
Statistics on the overall mail ballot returned appear at first blush to be very bullish for Democrats, but there are reasons to be cautious about these lopsided margins. Yet, a deeper dive into these statistics may reveal something about the direction of certain elections.
The overall mail ballot statistics I report show that among the seventeen states that are currently reporting mail ballots returned by party registration, registered Democrats have a sizable lead of 1.9 million mail ballots returned to 1.1 million Republican mail ballots returned.
